Fresh from winning the Best New Director award and Best Indie/Rock Video UK at the 2012 UK Music Video Awards, AG Rojas’s compelling video for Purity Ring’s Lofticries is a admirable follow up to his great vids for Jack White’ Sixteen Saltines and Spiritualized’s Hey Jane and just as memorable.
It’s four seemingly disconnected yet thematically similar scenes – different individual experience emotionally intense moments without reaction – datamoshed together to create one compelling and seamless story.
“Lofticries is a music video exploring the stoicism of psychically connected characters confronted by surreal, climactic moments,” AG told Pitchfork. “It is also a song off my favorite album of the year by Purity Ring.”
