Police Dog Hogan ’14 Roses’ by Tom Kingsley
Friday, 26. October 2012 - 11:15 am

The second video in quick succession for Police Dog Hogan – featuring the velvet vocals of Blink boss James Studholme and the skillfully plucked banjo of Guardian columnist Tim Dowling – sees Tom Kingsley turn to stop-motion animation and greenscreen to tell the eventful adventures of a very romantic artist’s mannequin for 14 Roses.
Lo-fi but high concept, it starts off as your everyday tale about delivering flowers to the person you love – but then there’s a shark, a rocket ship and a nasty scene where someone gets a spike inserted somewhere you wouldn’t like to have a spike inserted. Shot at Beachy Head and Epping Forest on the hottest weekend of the year Tom – the director of several fabulous videos for the likes of Darwin Deez and The Guillemots, and co-director of the acclaimed low-budget feature Black Pond – pretty much did everything himself.
