Die Antwoord ‘Fatty Boom Boom’ by Ninja, Yo-landi Vi$$er, Terence Neale and Saki Fokken Berg
Thursday, 18. October 2012 - 7:00 pm
Die Antwoord have a new single and, of course, there’s a blindingly brilliant music video to go with it. Ninja and Yo-Landi continue to blitz through pop culture, this time with high lady of pop, Lady Gaga in their sights.
Whilst Gaga takes a trip to South Africa (attired in classic meat dress), she sees the wonders of the concrete jungle like cheeky Hyenas, Lions and ‘robots’ and then stumbles across some ‘local musicians’, before being unceremoniously made to flee for her life. Ninja and Yo-landi then rip it up in a top blitz of costume contrast and style mayhem.
There’s a huge crew list, with either Ninja or Yo-landi involved in the most of it, and some celebs like Alexandra Wang and Roger Ballen lending some arty hands. You might not be surprised to see Vice lent a hand with production duties.
Just a word of advice – you might want to hold your stomach when Die Antwoord homage ‘Black Gynaecologist’ by Anton Kannemeyer with Lady Gaga in the doctors chair…
