Miike Snow ‘Pretender’ by Vern Moen
Tuesday, 2. October 2012 - 1:30 pm
For Miike Snow’s Pretender, directed by Vern Moen, we rejoin ‘Jean Noel’ – the character created by director Andreas Nilsson in his surreal Miike Snow videos for Paddling Out (where, in case you’ve forgotten, Jean is abducted by aliens (who looked a lot like children dressed up as 18th Century French aristocrats) and given a strange face and a pair of PVC trousers) and the sequel for The Wave.
In this episode Jean finally arrives in reality, and lost at a music festival, and having to come to terms with surroundings as strange, in their way, as something from Andreas’ Nilsson’s imagination. His appearance provokes mixed reactions from fellow festival goers, but Jean soon gets in the swing. Although whether he survives the experience is open to question…
