In the space of a couple of years Luke has carved out a career as a music video director, both in partnership with James Barber – with work including the MOBO Award-winning video for Tinchy Stryder and Dappy’s Spaceship, Maverick Sabre’s Let Me Go, and Wretch 32 and Ed Sheeran’s Hush Little Baby – and on solo projects, including the video for Flatbush Zombies’ Thug Waffle (included in Stereogum’s “Top 25 Music videos of 2012 So Far” earlier this year).
He also directed a short doc on boxer Carl Froch, and Luke has also worked extensively with A$AP Rocky (above), capturing the Harlem rapper’s meteoric rise to fame in the form of the music video for Purple Kisses, and also a documentary for Channel 4.
Luke has received press coverage in British GQ (where he is a listed contributor), i-D, Dazed & Confused and Hypebeast, amongst others. As well as directing music videos, short films and documentaries Luke has also moved into the commercial field. Working with Nike, Adidas, Casio and most recently online retail giants ASOS to direct all of the video content for their women’s A/W 12/13 campaign featuring Azealia Banks and supermodel Charlotte Free.
