Grizzly Bear ‘Yet Again’ by Emily Kai Bock

Grizzly Bear are back with a new album, Shields, and maintaining their tradition of working with the cream of young video directing talent (former collaborators include Encyclopedia Pictura, Patrick Daughters and Alison Schulnik), directing duties for the video for Yet Again have gone to Emily Kai Bock – whose last music video was a work of sheer brilliance, for Grimes’ Oblivion.
And this is certainly very different from Oblivion – although the director is very much focussed on a female character in a sports setting. This is a dreamlike narrative – shot in Toronto – based around the psychological fragility of a young female ice-skater. Her strange journey takes her to the verge of rebellion. And works beautifully with a typically gorgeous Grizzly Bear song.
