Liars Lie ‘Saturday Night/Sunday Morning’ by Adam Barnett
Friday, 31. August 2012 - 11:30 am

Adam Barnett marks his directorial debut with this surprisingly gory tale of obsession and hate for Newcastle band Liars Lie.
“Saturday Night/Sunday Morning is about a young man stalking his ex and her new partner and the lengths he goes to inflict misery and cruelty on them. In life and Death” explains Adam.
“This is my first video, working with first time and amateur actors – the new boyfriend is played by the lead singer of the band James Carroll. Tom Harvey, who plays the ex-boyfriend, had never acted before but for a week beforehand we got to know each other very well and looked at elements from his own life and worked them into the story for the video, he channelled a lot of his own demons into his performance.
“It was great fun making the video, considering the very limited budget. We filmed over 2 days in friends houses and work places around Newcastle and we built our own slide track. We had no lights so used house lights, torches and made our diffusers from plastic milk bottles, tracing paper etc.
“The DIY aspect was one of the most rewarding parts of the project”.
