The Maccabees ‘In The Dark’ by Jamie Roberts & Will Hanke

Approached by Tom Connaughton at online music video channel Vevo, directors Jamie Roberts and Will Hanke devised the concept of their amazing and adventurous 13 minute Maccabees promo over a coffee, then took the necessary months to create and test the technology and workflow.
Their challenge was to mix live action with motion capture, shooting the band with a specially designed and built Kintect camera rig containing 10 cameras. This was mixed with straight Alexa performance footage.
Picking the brains of everyone including the R&D team from the latest Ironman film, eventually it was wrangled into being…
