Mimi Cave signs to Partizan
Monday, 13. August 2012 - 5:30 pm
Mimi Cave, San Francisco-based director and regular collaborator of tUnE-yArDs – aka Merrill Garbus – has joined Partizan for music video representation.
Mimi’s work includes the wonderful tUnE-yArDs videos for Bizness and My Country – which features the kids of Brightworks and San Francisco Rock Project. Pitchfork has called Mimi Cave’s work totally adorable with a potent message, having a kaleidoscopic aesthetic and rhythmic energy.
Growing up outside of Chicago, Mimi began mixing performance, dance and film while studying in college. Her momentous directorial debut exploded online, to a mesmerised audience of 2m. She helped save San Francisco’s Rock Project, a non-profit music school for kids, purely on the back of her unforgettable music videos for tUnE-yArDs, an idea that developed while she was a backup dancer at a few tUnE-yArDs shows.
