Bloc Party ‘Octopus’ by Nova Dando

Nova Dando is still best known as a fashion stylist, but is now making big strides as a director. Having directed Bloc Party frontman Kele’s solo video for What Did I Do, now she directs the video for the band’s hot new single Octopus, from the forthcoming album Four. It’s poptastic, hypnotic, and already a big hit on YouTube.
Bloc Party’s performance in a warehouse is cut in rapid-repeat image sequences to emphasise Octopus’s propulsive quality, and intercut with more imagery of ribbon dancers. A mainstream hit beckons for Bloc Party, and Nova Dando is already looking assured in her new career…
