Justice ‘New Lands’ by Canada

A stunning video for Justice’s New Lands by Barcelona directing team (and last year’s MVA Directors of the Year) Canada, who create their own version of seventies cult movie Rollerball, and give it a modern makeover, but maintain the flavour of the original.
Just like the original, we’re watching a dangerous, hybrid futuristic sports event controlled by the ‘suits’. People get killed. And now they are also deadly robots playing… Its full-on, blockbuster action all the way – and a distinct change of direction from Canada’s prevalent music video style of the past year.
The cinematic production values are as impressive as anything Canada have ever done – another sterling job by Canada’s in-house production team led by Oscar Romagosa. They certainly had a budget for this one – the video is sponsored by Red Bull – and they’ve certainly used it well.
The video was shot over four nights at a stadium in Barcelona (not Camp Nou), with a large cast marshalled through a action-packed Rollerball-style match. Great work from DPs Arnau Valls and Pau Castejón and impressive skills from Barcelona post house Glasswork. The whole thing is just awesome in fact…
