Willy Moon becomes the subject of psychoanalysis and prey to his own subconscious in the inventive video for Yeah Yeah, directed by Sasha Rainbow – her third video for Will, and her first at Nice & Polite, where she is now signed.
A director with a background in photography and art direction, Sasha says, “We all know Willy Moon can dance, so this video was about showcasing his personality and creating situations in which he could do so. I wanted to expand on this by illustrating a journey into his mind.
“I decided to bring Willy Moon into the world of colour but it needed to flow naturally from the last two black and white videos we did. I chose to make it hyperreal and play with a technicolour theme to heighten the surreal aspect of the video.
“I wanted to keep Willy Moon’s character consistent, so played with themes from his previous singles and videos such as the Grim reapers, appropriated retro and of course, theatrical lighting.”
