The Diamond Noise ‘Never Say Never Say Never’ by Harvey Eaton
Tuesday, 21. February 2012 - 1:15 pm
A shoot within a video shoot for new band The Diamond Noise’s first single Never Say Never Say Never by first time director Harvey Eaton – mainly a live performance, with narrative elements, and beautifully lit by Ollie Downey.
It was shot principally using a hand held ‘flip’ rig which was developed by Harvey and a friend, allowing a Canon 5D to spin on a horizontal and vertical axis, filmed at The Performance Space, an artist-led, non-profit organisation that provides studio and project space in Hackney Wick.
“The idea from the video was born out of the no-nonsense, killer live performances which the band are rapidly becoming known for, so a high octane performance piece was always going to be the focus of their first video,” says producer Chris Cable. “Harvey wanted the brazen, loud and in your face essence of the band to be reflected in the video, together with the slightly surreal narrative and gothic, Victoriana design.
“We’re really proud of the video, it was the culmination of a lot of hard work, energy and generosity from all those involved who worked solely on goodwill and local Hackney pizza!”
