UK Music Video Awards 2011 UPDATE: One day to go! Directors UK latest sponsors of UKMVAs!

Monday, 7. November 2011 - 12:45 pm

It’s nearly here: the UK Music Video Awards 2011 – the 4th annual big awards bash for British music videos – takes place tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 8th – at The Empire, Leicester Square in central London.

34 awards will be presented at the UK MVAs 2011, to honour the best British and international music videos of the past year, and the creativity and technical excellence of the people who’ve made them. Preparations for the ceremony, to be presented by Adam Buxton and being held at the prestigious Empire cinema for the first time, are almost complete.

A few tickets for the awards ceremony, plus an aftershow party over three floors at ONE London – two doors down from the Empire – are still available, together with aftershow-only tickets. Contact Suzie Curtis at suzie@ukmva.com or on 05602 046199.

And Directors UK – the professional association for British screen directors – is the latest organisation to come on board as sponsors of the UK Music Video Awards 2011. It coincides with Directors UK’s new membership scheme to invite directors working in all screen media – including music video – to join the body.

“Directors UK is delighted to sponsor this year’s UK Music Video Awards,” says Stuart Wealands of Directors UK. “On the 28th of November Directors UK will launch a brand new membership scheme to take on directors working in all screen mediums, including music video, short film, commercials and web media.

“The new scheme will provide a range of free services for its members including a mentor scheme, training and workshops, financial and legal services, discounts, master classes, seminars, screenings, interactive website, job services and competitions.

“We aim to support all directors whatever the stage of their career with three types of membership, full, associate and student. To find out more about joining visit our website. Good luck to all the nominees in this year’s awards.”
