The Saturdays ‘Heart Takes Over’ by Elisha Smith-Leverock
Wednesday, 12. October 2011 - 12:39 pm

Elisha Smith-Leverock heads off to a very chilly Iceland with The Saturdays to shoot the promo to new single Heart Takes Over.
“It was quite a challenge this one,” explains Elisha. “A one day shoot with the girls, crew and vehicles battling gale force winds and torrential rain. Everyone was a real trooper though, particularly the girls who had to fight hard not to be completely blown over”.

It’s a bit distracting with all the blinking and wincing… very uncomfortable video. The camera work and edit is really poor. The 2 stills above look really nice though.

Those girls look very uncomfortable poor things.
Iceland = very windy at best of times
Iceland in October = very probably wet and windy
No weather cover and a one day shoot in October on a beach in Iceland.
Amazing producing skills!!!

Tricky this, with dave ma and his hurts vid or dave mould and his take that vid former classics of the Iceland genre this vid could have been similar but doesn’t quite live up to these predecessors. We are reminded of the weaknesses as we cut back to the same set ups again and again. The video therefore has little depth or progression. The layers or make up and glossy costumes dont sit well against the natural beauty of this stunning landscape

It is a badly made video set in an glorious location. The location just isn’t good enough to make up for the shortcomings in direction, effects, production, styling and editing.

Sadly you can read what was going on in the faces of the talent and consequently the lack of coverage or scene development.
They look utterly miserable, and not at all into the idea of wearing skimpy dresses, looking pretty and myming lyrics whilst being blown about on a freezing Icelandic beach. I am sure this had a massive impacted on time and what could be shot with them. The end result looks very compromised.
Iceland still looks stunning !!

it looks like five girls have been kidnapped from Mahiki and dumped in the middle of iceland. Which makes for an odd vid.
