Cornershop’s United Provinces Of India by Chris Hemming
Wednesday, 16. March 2011 - 2:45 pm

Cornershop’s new album Cornershop & The Double ‘O’ Groove Of is released this week, with the indie-Indian pop of United Provinces Of India the lead single from the album – accompanied by a joyful, sun-splashed video by Chris Hemming, filmed in sunny East London last summer.
Chris previously directed the Cornershop video for Free Love, and shot this one over a weekend in and around Hoxton Hall using two Canon 5D cameras and a volunteer crew from Passion Pictures. And the doc-style video features Gordon Warnecke – famously the co-lead with Daniel Day-Lewis in My Beautiful Laundrette – as a good dad, taking the kids to see the beautiful Indian-dancing women. A film bursting with colour and warmth.
