Alpines’ Ice And Arrows by Kate Moross & Hans Lo

Newly signed to Pulse Films, directing duo Kate Moross and Hans Lo mark their debut for the company with this distinctive multi-coloured, glorious, squelchy mess of a promo for the indie swirl of Alpines’ Ice And Arrows.
“It was important to us to create the perfect visual accompaniment to Alpines’ Ice and Arrows,” explains Kate. “As a studio we are always keen to find new processes to generate moving image. Working with the band’s references we developed the idea of creating the entire music video under a microscope, and then introducing a layer of performance that worked in harmony with the colour and movement of the footage.
“We grew and sampled our own crystal formations and created chemical reactions in petri dishes – which were then captured using all the features of the specially adapted video microscope”.
