Lauren Pritchard’s Stuck by Lilah Vandenburgh
Thursday, 24. February 2011 - 9:30 am
Lauren Pritchard teams up with director Lilah Vandenburgh for a charming video for new single Stuck, featuring actor Michael Socha (This is England). They’re on the run from the law, handcuffed together, just like in a very old movie with Tony Curtis and Sidney Poitier. And they don’t get on…
Vandenburgh, who was snapped up by Ridley Scott after he spotted her short film Bitch at the Sundance Film Festival, went on to win 19 awards all over the world. She displays this narrative flair in her distinctive promo for Lauren.

Blimey
So watching this video thinking all departments have done very average jobs
Average locations
Average camera and edit
Average narrative
But above all the murky average-ness lauren shined
And then the coppers wore US marshals outfits
Shame on you all
24. February 2011 - 12:00 pm
wow! that was arrogant, for something that’s pretty damn decent.
this is really quite refreshing, it’s head and shoulders better than the tripe that’s floating in the promo bowl these days
I especially like the ‘of mice and men’ theme, plus Lauren comes across really strong.
24. February 2011 - 12:10 pm
how can it be arrogant to form a simple opinion you direy old dp
24. February 2011 - 12:44 pm
You’re a turd burglar Direy old lass.
A bored turd burglar
24. February 2011 - 12:57 pm
Welcome to promo news where anyone with an opinion gets a crass remark slapped on their new barnet and accused of not having a life
Note to self: “must go out to bricklane and find a life”
Sheesh guys
It’s just a music video
A music video that is very very average
It’s not gonna change the world and it won’t win best video with handcuffs under 20k
24. February 2011 - 1:06 pm
I simply don’t think it deserves such a slating.
sheesh!
its real people who make these videos, real people who put a lot of blood sweat and tears into them,
there is absolutely nothing wrong with this video which would justify such a condemning opinion.
“shame on you all” who the fuck do you think you are??

If you read between the lines I’m positive regarding the main artist, which means the director has cohersed a decent performance and made her feel at ease
But some Burke in the backroom at universal has decided to Market in the USA need it’s whiskers tickled so let’s TACK on some idiots in bad hire costumes after 3 minutes of VERY british countyside and very British housing
So I say that a mighty mighty SHAME
And it’s average average
I like this banter
24. February 2011 - 2:23 pm
you know she’s american right?
24. February 2011 - 3:20 pm
I agree with Direy Old Lass – This is Shite
24. February 2011 - 5:47 pm
I agree, this is very average. The premise isn’t dreadful, but it is just executed with very little technical skill, and there are some dire creative decisions that have been made, the US marshals being the worst of these. It just makes you cringe from beginning to end.

You bunch of sad non workin losers.
This is without a doubt a very acomplished video made on a limited budget. It does what not many videos do; telling a story within a limited amount of time and showcases the artist as a credible, beliveable person. Admittedly its shot in the UK and made to look like an American indie film but the story is sweet and well told. We should be celebrating a narrative in a video as it puts value back into what we do and seperates the knowing from the wanna be’s…. I love it, good job Vandenburgh! And on that note, more females in our industry please!

Certain people on here make me laugh…. I beleive everyone is entitled to thier own opinion, but atleast have a little bit of constructiveness to it. Personal, i think the video is cool, has a nice energy to ity. It has just the right balance of humour and performance. The narrative was well directed, which a rearity in in contemporary videos.
24. February 2011 - 8:57 pm
I think Its a nice, sweet story that is shot well. Love it!
24. February 2011 - 9:00 pm
I think it’s cool, good cast, great cinematography, decent tune.
24. February 2011 - 9:50 pm
Agreed. Decent song. Solid vid. The guy is funny. Good stuff.
24. February 2011 - 11:28 pm
I thought the directing was smart. The gentle style fits the song. What lifts it are the natural moments of performance – particularly in the top shot when they’re lying outside. Michael Socha is great casting, giving a clever balance to Lauren’s sweetness.
25. February 2011 - 11:33 pm
Oh look, the director got all her friends to comment.
Are you kidding this is trash. I’m all for narrative music videos, but they have to be told with a little skill.
28. February 2011 - 2:45 pm
Look you rassclaarts, don’t make me step into this interweb thing and bitch slap all you all twice. This video is all right. It’s not gonna change the world but what does these days. It looked nice. flowed nice. nice.
