Max & Dania’s groundbreaking debut feature StreetDance 3D – the first non-American film to be shot in 3D – goes on general release in British cinemas from today, May 21st.
Featuring Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity and George Sampson, and BGT finalists Flawless, together with Matthew Bourne protégé Richard Winsor and actress Charlotte Rampling, StreetDance 3D is a dance movie where the world of street dance and ballet collide – a Romeo & Juliet-type story liberally punctuated by spectacular dance showstoppers shot in 3D.
It’s the debut feature by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini – award-winning directors of videos for Craig David, So Solid Crew, Busted, Roll Deep, Alesha Dixon and numerous other UK pop and urban acts – and the result of British movie company Vertigo Films’s alliance with American 3D production experts Paradise FX to make budget-conscious features in 3D outside of Hollywood. It was made using Paradise Fx’s Tri Delta camera systems – with Paradise’s CTO Max Penner as the stereographer.
