James Caddick, director and astronautJames Caddick, whose video for KT Tunstall’s If Only won an award at the 2008 UK MVAs, has joined Warp Films’ music video roster.

James has received acclaim and awards for his short films and animations including The Sunbather and The Journey. After completing an MA at the Royal College of Art he has directed the series of shorts Preparing For The Worst for Chanel 4’s Three Minute Wonders, and begun making virals and commercials. He also contributes graphic stories to art mag Le Gun magazine.

His first video, which sees KT Tunstall taking part in a Seventies ski-jump competition – she was incorporated into footage from the Werner Herzog documentary The Great Ecstasy of Woodcarver Steiner – won the best telecine in a video award at the MVAs last October.

Joceline Gabriel, Warp Films music video director’s rep, says James’s work “has an often funny and emotive narrative element to it. He is interested in creating highly crafted textural work which has its own aesthetic, which for him comes from strong ideas, collaborating with the right people and an eye for detail.”
