BBC New Music shorts scheme open for submissionsThe New Music Shorts scheme run in conjunction with the BBC Electric Promos is now open for submissions for its 2008 programme.

Offering budgets of up to £5,000 to make narrative films for new tracks from XX Teens, Wild Beasts and Roots Manuva, the deadline for submissions to the BBC New Music Shorts scheme is Monday July 7th.

The ideas submitted can be for a music video, short drama or short documentary, but should be inspired by the tracks made available to the scheme, and also must be narrative-driven.

Directors selected to make the films will work with Warp Films, have up to £5,000 to make their film, and see their work premiered at the BBC Electric Proms in October.
