Just in case you’re one of the few remaining people on the planet who hasn’t been aware of Weezer’s tribute to YouTube ‘memes’…
The video for Pork and Beans – Weezer’s best since Buddy Holly? – is now a YouTube phenomenon itself of course. And there’s really no point watching it on any kind of fancy QT or anything, even if it does have some superbly surreal visual effects.
It’s the genius brainchild of Mathew Cullen at Motion Theory, the outfit behind videos for Modest Mouse’s Dashboard, Adele’s Chasing Pavements, Beck’s Girl and lots more excellent stuff. And Mathew has been talking to both Wired Magazine’s blog Underwire and MTV’s Buzzworthy with the story behind the video.
